Penhaligon's is England's most iconic perfume house. Established in 1870 by William Penhaligon, in 1872 Penhaligon's offered its first fragrance, Hammam Bouquet, inspired by the neighboring Turkish Bath. The companies best-selling fragrance, Blenheim Bouquet, with zesty citrus, spices and woods, created in 1902 at the request of the Duke of Marlborough. Many of the original scents created by William Penhaligon were modernized and reintroduced as part of the "Anthology Collection". New floral scents designed to appeal to female customers were introduced. Among those was Bluebell, launched in 1978, which remains a best-seller for the company today. The company maintains its commitment to the founder's legacy to source the finest rare perfume ingredients and and to use traditional techniques. The bottles for Penhaligon's scents are based on William Penhaligon's original design - clear glass and adorned with a ribbon. Today, to complement to its fragrances, Penhaligon's also offers a line bath and body care products and luxury shaving and grooming accessories.

In 1956 Penhaligon's was granted its first Royal Warrant by the Duke of Edinburgh, followed by a second in 1988, granted by the Princess of Wales.
